Literacy |
Literacy is grouped into three areas: Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing. All of these activities are covered on a daily basis. |
|---|
| Reading - We have a comprehensive selection of reading materials in school. We aim to promote silent fluent reading as a lifelong their families. The Library is central to the school and each class has a weekly library session. For a list of recommended children's authors, please click here! |
|---|
| Speaking and Listening - Language is a vital part of every school and home activity We encourage our children to learn to be part of a group, both to listen and to communicate. Children learn to talk freely and exchange ideas through their activity and experience. |
Writing - Children are given the opportunity to write for a wide range of audiences - creative prose, poetry, letters, factual accounts, etc. We aim to develop good handwriting and expect a high standard of presentation. |
