Science

Children need to understand scientific concepts and develop ways of finding out for themselves by experimenting and investigating. We aim to develop the innate, natural curiosity of children by providing them with experiences to find out about the world around them We are blessed with a natural environment which we use to the full.

Parachutes - We investigated protecting an egg during a large fall. The aim was to produce packaging which kept the egg safe, was attractive and used as few resources as possible. Click on a thumbnail to see the packages we produced!

Bubble Mixture - We investigated making mixture to produce bubbles. We experimented with different mixtures, trying to find the best. We also looked at whether or not we could make different shaped bubbles using garden wire.

Salt Crystals - We mixed varying amounts of salt with water and evaporated the solutions. These are the crystals we produced looked at using the Intel microscope. We also produced a small time lapse film of salt crystals forming.
